Bruggeman performed a competitive benchmark to ensure the new bottle would stand out on the shelf. This led to specific requirements: a bottle with a longer neck and stronger shoulders which is easier and more convenient to use for the consumer. With this in mind, O-I started to design the new bottle, resulting in a prominent bolder glass packaging, with a trapezoidal shape for easier handling and a slender neck.
Grégory Maurissen, Marketing Director Benelux at Bruggeman: “We have a long history in quality spirits. The new brand packaging needed to translate this premium image in a more modern, contemporary look and feel. At the same time the brands had to stay recognizable for our customers. The new bottle perfectly reflects the character of the brandies and increases the brand recognition.”
“In recent years, we have rebranded several of our spirits, introducing them to a younger audience while staying identifiable for our loyal consumers,” Grégory Maurissen continues. “O-I has always been our preferred partner for the development of new glass packaging, and this for more than 30 years.”
Patrick Waegemakers, Segment Manager for Beer, Spirits and Wine packaging for O-I Benelux: “The long-standing relationship with Bruggeman allows us to intimately understand their requirements and to translate the history and value of the company into the new glass packaging designs. The journey towards this new bottle range intensified our relationship even more.”
The new Dujardin Vieux, domaine de Bressac and Domaine du Vieux Couvent bottles are already available on the Dutch and Belgian market.
